ERRATUMAdmissions to United Kingdom and United Kingdom majority co-produced films in France 2002.In its 8th August 2003 issue (Volume 16, number 15, page 5), United Kingdom trade journal Screen Finance included an article on admissions to United Kingdom and United Kingdom majority co-produced films in France in 2002, under the heading `Film Distribution France: Brit-produced films attract 27m French cinemagoers'. This article was based on data supplied by the European Audiovisual Observatory and drawn from the Observatory's LUMIERE database (http://lumiere.obs.coe.int). Due to a technical error in communication, data supplied by the Observatory for both the admissions figures and the list of United Kingdom films released on the French market in 2002 and presented in the Screen Finance article is incorrect. The figures shown are in fact the United Kingdom admissions to United Kingdom films, hence the total of 27 million admissions quoted in the headline to the article. In reality, total admissions to United Kingdom and United Kingdom majority co-produced films released in France in 2002 amounted to 7,137,552 (including re-releases). Die Another Day was the most popular British film with 3,705,944 admissions (52% of total admissions to UK films), followed by Gosford Park (821,392 admissions) and About a Boy (566,853 admissions). Bend It Like Beckham came in fourth place, with a total of 319,841 admissions. A total of 41 films were distributed, of which 17 were new releases. The full list of admissions to United Kingdom-produced films in France in 2002 can be found below. The European Audiovisual Observatory would like to present its sincere apologies to the editors and publishers of Screen Finance and to their readers for any inconvenience caused.
