The Observatory's work relies heavily on the development of national information sources and the collection of the necessary information. The Observatory network was established for this purpose. It is composed of:
Alongside the collection of relevant information, a separate network has been developed for the dissemination of the Observatory's printed publications. In accordance with individual information needs, the Observatory Network is structured differently in each individual area of the Observatory's work. |

As a networking organisation, the European Audiovisual Observatory maintains regular links with hundreds of public and private bodies; it is therefore able to keep abreast of the evolution of the audiovisual sector in Europe and even further afield. The network centres on some fifty bodies with which the Observatory collaborates more closely.
