The licence fee on television sets is the classical way of financing public service television in Europe. However, the licence fee does not exist everywhere. The legal statute of the licence fee, the organisation in charge of data collection and the amount of the licence vary country by country. Since 1.1.2002 the collection of the licence fee is part of the competence of the Regions.		 The Flemish Region and the Brussels Region have fixed the radio-television licence fee to 0 EUR.
The radio-TV licence fee still exist in the Walloon Region and is collected by the Cellule fiscale de la Région wallonne
