EbS Europe
by Satellite
The European Union's TV news agency Europe by Satellite (EbS) is
a service providing coverage of EU affairs for TV and radio professionals.
EbS offers via satellite and on the Internet live and recorded transmissions
of events in up to 11 languages, raw unedited pictures with natural
sound and full programmes related to EU affairs.
EbS' clear digital satellite signal is directly available all over
the European Union, the Mediterranean area, and Central and Eastern
Europe, with both domestic and professional reception equipment. Therefore
live and recorded transmissions of important ceremonies, meetings,
visits and press conferences are also available to public institutions
and individual citizens.

Market and statistical information
The Yearbook
published by the European Audiovisual Observatory provides information
on the economic and financial situation of broadcasting (Volume 1),
on the TV equipment, transmissions facilities and on TV audience market
share (Volume 2), on interactive television and new services (Volume
4) and on TV programming and TV production (volume 5).
The report
Radio and Television systems in Europe 2000/2001, edited by
the Hans Bredow Institute and published in English and French by the
Observatory, provides excellent background information on the various
national radio and television landscape in each of the European countries.
