European Audiovisual Observatory announces Moscow conference on the legal VoD market in Russia!
On-demand: a new opportunity for film?

The legal offer of VoD services in Russia grew by a massive 32% between 2015 and 2016. This is in spite of the fact that 2 out of 3 Russians reportedly consider that viewing and downloading pirated content is legal, according to a survey conducted by software company Irdeto. In addition, Russian legislators have recently imposed a 20% foreign equity limit on ownership of OTT platforms with over 100,000 subscribers: so what of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video?  This is clearly a market in flux! High time for the European Audiovisual Observatory, part of the Council of Europe, to bring out a new report on VoD services in Russia and to invite you to this year’s free Moscow conference: On-demand: a new opportunity for film?

This free entry public conference will take place in Moscow on Tuesday 10th of October, (9:30-14:00) at the Hotel Sheraton, 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya str. 19, Moscow. A networking buffet lunch will follow the conference from 13:00 - 14.00. Participation is free but registration is compulsory. Registration is now closed.
