The European Audiovisual Observatory will be presenting its brand new report: Public financing for film and TV content – the state of soft money in Europe
As part of the Industry Days at this year’s Festival del film Locarno. Author Julio Talavera Milla will present the findings of this brand new report.
This unique new report has its finger firmly on the pulse of film and TV content financing in Europe. It maps out the landscape of public money currently available, looking at the 4 main sources of public financing for the film and audiovisual sector in Europe:
- Public funding
- Fiscal incentives (Tax breaks, etc.)
- Mandatory obligations for broadcasters to invest in film and audiovisual production
- Guarantee facilities (facilitation of access to finance)
The report focuses in particular on the first two categories of financing. The Observatory has tracked, over the period from 2010 – 2014, the number of funds in operation, their income by source and their spend by type of activity (development, film production, TV production, distribution, promotion, etc.) Julio Talavera Milla will reveal the findings of this unique new report on the state of soft money in Europe for film and television content.
Event open to all Locarno accreditations (press, industry etc)
Location: Hotel Belvedere, Via ai Monti 44, CH-6600 Locarno Conference room: Sala Granda (ground floor, outdoor entrance to the left of the main Hotel entrance)
