Martin Kanzler joined the Observatory as a Film Analyst in September 2007. In June 2019 he became Deputy Head of the Department for Market Information and is responsible for the field of film statistics and acts as the secretariat of the European Film Agency Research Network (EFARN).

Following his studies in international business economics at the University of Vienna, he worked for Ernst & Young Corporate Finance in Berlin for five years as an M&A Advisor in the media and entertainment branch. He also holds an MA in TV & Film Production from the University of Krems (Donau-Universität) Austria.
