Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse), the world’s leading event for printed and digital content, brings together publishing professionals, authors and creative industry representatives from around the globe. Its 2026 edition will take place from 7 to 11 October 2026.
For the first time, the European Audiovisual Observatory will participate in Frankfurter Buchmesse, represented by Agnes Schneeberger, our TV and VOD Markets Analyst from the Department for Market Information. On Friday, 9 October 2026, as part of Book-to-Screen Day, Agnes will take part in a panel discussion session Book-to-Screen Spotlight: Adaptation Trends in Europe, which will explore the evolving relationship between the publishing and audiovisual industries. The panel will examine the developments influencing the European book-to-screen market, from the selection of literary material and collaboration between publishers and production companies to current market trends and the growing potential of literary works for film and series adaptations.
Book-to-Screen Day, organised by Frankfurter Buchmesse in co-operation with the Berlinale Co-Production Market, connects publishers and literary agents with film and television producers through a series of events exploring books with potential for film, series and other screen adaptations.
Frankfurter Buchmesse is open to everyone upon a paid registration.
