The European Audiovisual Observatory and Estonia, which holds the Observatory Presidency for 2022, have announced an international hybrid conference:
Creators in Europe’s Screen Sectors – Sketching Present and Future Challenges
The Observatory and its panelists will be exploring the conditions framing the creation of audiovisual content in Europe and looking at challenges and chances for the creative forces in the European film, TV and VOD industries. We'll be deep diving into questions such as:
- What does the current boom in TV fiction and streaming mean for creators in Europe? And what creative role does a "showrunner" play?
- What are the main legal framework and policy issues related to recognition, working conditions and remuneration for creators working in the European Audiovisual sector?
- What measures are needed in Europe to nurture and assist the creative sector through current challenges such as the effects of COVID, the digital revolution and the accompanying copyright concerns?
