On 15 April 2026, from 10:30 to 12:00, the European Parliament’s CULT Committee held a workshop entitled “From Script to Screen: The European Film Financing Landscape.”
The session explored film financing models, key industry players, audience development strategies, support mechanisms for films from smaller EU Member States, Creative Europe funding distribution, and future challenges, including potential EU regulatory and financial responses.
Martin Kanzler, Deputy Head of the Department for Market Information, contributed to the discussion online with a presentation on the key characteristics of the European film financing ecosystem.
The workshop was not open to the public.
