The International Conference on Reviewing Practices to address the risks of online gambling and video gaming for children and youth is taking place on 22–23 September 2026 in Valletta, Malta.
The conference will bring together European and international experts, government officials, regulators and partner institutions to exchange practices and strengthen cooperation in addressing the risks that online gambling and video gaming may pose to children and young people. The event will present the key findings and recommendations of the International Practices Review Report, showcase national approaches from participating EU Member States and beyond, and promote peer learning and continued European cooperation.
During the conference Eric Munch, our Legal Analyst, will give a presentation on video games and the protection of minors.
This International Conference is not open to the public.
The conference is organised within the framework of the project “Promoting the Mental Health of Children and Youth by addressing the Risks of Online Gambling and Gaming”, co-funded by the European Union through the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) and implemented by the Council of Europe. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Social Policy and Children’s Rights of Malta.
