MEDICI 2026 will take place from 30 September to 3 October 2026 in Laulasmaa, Estonia.
Martin Kanzler, Head of our Department for Market Information, will participate in the event and deliver a presentation on 3 October entitled Understanding Cinema Audiences: Data for Public Film Funding. His presentation will examine current audience, cinema and market data, providing a factual basis for understanding audience behaviour and the visibility of European films.
MEDICI is an annual training and exchange forum for decision-makers in national and international film funding bodies, offering a space for peer learning, sharing best practices and developing forward-looking strategies. Its 2026 edition explores how film funding institutions can adapt to a changing audiovisual landscape, with a particular focus on the artistic and social value of films, impact-driven funding policies, audience engagement and new approaches to connecting films with viewers.
