Back Bureau - General information

The Bureau of the Executive Council is elected by the Executive Council. Article 7.2 of the Statute of the Observatory, states that it is "composed of the Chairperson of the Executive Council and a maximum of eight members thereof, to perform those functions which the Council shall entrust to it".

Its primary task is to prepare the meetings of the Executive Council.
 

Members of the Bureau

According to a well-established practice, the Bureau is made up of a "troika" of three permanent members of the Bureau (the current, former and future Chairpersons); the European Union is also a member, together with a maximum of five other elected members.

The countries that make up the Bureau of the Executive Council in 2024 are:

  • Austria (2025 Chair of the Executive Council),
  • xxx (2026 Chair of the Executive Council),
  • Georgia (2024 Chair of the Executive Council),
  • Italy (elected member),
  • Morocco (elected member),
  • France (elected member),
  • the European Commission - representing the European Union (elected member),
  • and Romania (elected member).
